Instructions for Use

For a quick overview and how-to videos on using your Ridge Wallet, visit Getting Started.

How to Carry: The Ridge Wallet is designed for front pocket carry but is slim and lightweight enough to be carried anywhere you prefer, including your back pocket, jacket pocket, purse, or backpack.

Loading Cards: The Ridge Wallet holds 1–12 standard credit cards, debit cards, and IDs. Slide cards in through the open side of the elastic band. The elastic may feel stiff at first and will loosen naturally with regular use.

Retrieving Cards: Using the notch cutout, push cards out with your finger or thumb, then fan them open. For easiest access, keep your two most-used cards at the front and back of the wallet, with heavier or thicker cards stored toward the back for smoother retrieval.

Card Capacity: Do not exceed 12 cards, as overfilling makes card retrieval difficult and may damage the elastic, cards, and wallet components over time. Embossed or metal cards are thicker than standard cards and may reduce total capacity, so start with fewer cards and adjust as needed.

RFID Blocking: The Ridge Wallet provides 100% RFID blocking protection. RFID (Radio-Frequency Identification) is the wireless technology built into most modern credit and debit cards. While a convenient feature of modern card technology, RFID signals can also be intercepted by skimming devices, allowing thieves to steal your card information remotely. The Ridge Wallet's aluminum inner plates block these signals entirely. Note that RFID blocking will also prevent tap-to-pay and scan-enabled cards from functioning while inside the wallet. Remove your card before using tap or scan payment functionality.

Cash Handling: The Ridge Wallet comes standard with a cash strap that wraps around the outside of the wallet, holding cash and cards firmly against the outer plate. Tiny rubber grips on the underside help keep everything securely in place. To carry cash, fold bills and tuck them beneath the strap. The ½ fold or ¼ fold both work depending on preference. If you have an older Ridge Wallet that came with a money clip, or have added a money clip as an accessory, bills can also be folded and tucked under the clip. Coins and small items may be stored using the optional Coin Tray.

Modifications: The Ridge Wallet uses Torx screws, which require a small Torx screwdriver for adjustments. Use it to tighten or loosen the screws connecting the inner and outer plates, switch out the cash strap or money clip, replace screws, or swap outer plates. Do not overtighten, as this may strip the screws or damage the plates.

Card Care: With regular use, cards stored together may experience minor wear, particularly cards that are embossed with raised letters and numbers. If you notice wear on a card, try repositioning it within the wallet. Periodically remove cards you no longer need to keep your wallet slim and extend the life of both your wallet and your cards.

Older Card Technologies: Some cards and programmable devices using older technologies, such as magnetic stripe cards, hotel key cards, transit cards, and key fobs, may be more sensitive to proximity with other cards or metal surfaces. If you experience issues, try storing the item separately or contact the issuer for a replacement.

Travel and Security: The Ridge Wallet passes through TSA security checkpoints without issue. As with all carry-on items, it will need to be removed from your pocket and placed in a security screening bin before going through airport security. The Ridge Wallet may also trigger metal detectors in other settings such as courthouses, stadiums, or concert venues depending on the sensitivity of the equipment. Be prepared to remove it from your pocket if requested.

Safety Guidelines

Intended Use: The Ridge Wallet is designed for everyday carry of cards and cash. Do not use it for any purpose other than its intended use.

Children and Vulnerable Persons: The Ridge Wallet is not intended for use by children or persons with reduced physical, sensory, or mental capabilities. This product is intended for adults 18 years of age or older. Keep out of reach of children and vulnerable persons. Small components including screws are a choking hazard. If a Torx screwdriver was included with your Ridge Wallet, keep it out of reach as well. Adult supervision is required when the wallet is handled near children or vulnerable persons.

Card and Magnetic Stripe Protection: The Ridge Wallet provides 100% RFID blocking protection, which will prevent tap-to-pay and scan-enabled cards from functioning while inside the wallet. Remove your card before using tap or scan payment functionality. Some cards and programmable devices using older technologies, such as magnetic stripe cards, hotel key cards, transit cards, and key fobs, may be more sensitive to proximity with other cards or metal surfaces. If you experience issues, try storing the item separately or contact the issuer for a replacement.

Medical Device Warning: The aluminum inner plates in the Ridge Wallet block wireless signals entirely. If you have an implanted medical device such as a pacemaker or other electronic medical device, consult your physician regarding any concerns about carrying RFID-blocking products before use.

Damage and Misuse: Inspect your Ridge Wallet periodically for signs of damage, including sharp edges or damaged plates. Check that screws remain tight. Loose screws may cause plates to separate or components to be lost. A small Torx screwdriver can be used to retighten screws as needed. If sharp edges or structural damage are found, discontinue use and contact Ridge Support.

Disassembly and Modifications: Do not attempt to modify the Ridge Wallet beyond the assembly and adjustment instructions described in this document. Unauthorized modifications may create sharp edges, compromise structural integrity, or void the warranty.

Skin Sensitivity and Metal Allergies: The Ridge Wallet is available in a range of materials. Some materials may contain trace metals that could cause skin irritation in sensitive individuals. If you experience redness, itching, swelling, or other signs of skin irritation during use, discontinue contact with the product and consult a physician.

Water and Moisture Exposure: The Ridge Wallet is not waterproof. Brief exposure to water such as rain is unlikely to cause damage; however, the cards and cash inside will get wet if the wallet is submerged or heavily exposed to water. Dry the wallet and its contents thoroughly after any water exposure. Avoid submerging the wallet or using it while swimming, as prolonged exposure to water, chlorine, or saltwater may affect the wallet's finish over time.

Temperature and Heat: Metal conducts heat and cold. Avoid leaving your Ridge Wallet in direct sunlight, hot vehicles, or other high-heat environments, as it may become hot enough to cause discomfort and extreme heat may damage cards stored inside. Do not expose your Ridge Wallet to open flame or direct heat sources. Allow the wallet to return to a comfortable temperature before use.

Storage and Environmental Exposure: When not in active use, store your Ridge Wallet out of reach of children and vulnerable persons, and away from extreme heat, open flame, or prolonged moisture exposure, consistent with the guidance above.

Back Pocket Carry: The Ridge Wallet is slim and lightweight, making it comfortable for most carry positions. However, sitting on any hard object in a back pocket for extended periods may cause discomfort, particularly for those who sit for long periods or have back, hip, or nerve sensitivities. Front pocket carry is recommended for extended wear.

Maintenance & Storage

General Cleaning: Wipe the exterior of your Ridge Wallet with a soft, slightly damp cloth in a light circular motion to remove dirt or grime. Dry thoroughly after cleaning. Avoid abrasive materials, harsh chemicals, alcohol-based products, or hand sanitizer, as these may damage the wallet's finish. To remove dust or debris from the card slot or elastic, use a can of compressed air.

Leather Care: If you have a leather Ridge Wallet, clean it by dusting with a dry cloth, followed by a soft damp cloth in a light circular motion. Clean regularly with leather-specific products to maintain its look and feel, and apply a leather conditioner if the exterior becomes rough over time. Leather will naturally develop a patina as it ages, becoming softer and richer in color. This is a characteristic of quality leather and reflects the unique story of your wallet.

Finish and Surface Protection: Avoid carrying your Ridge Wallet in the same pocket as keys, coins, or other hard objects that may scratch the finish. Conversely, the wallet's metal construction may scratch phones, sunglasses, or other delicate items when carried together in the same pocket or compartment. With regular use, the finish on your Ridge Wallet may show natural wear over time. If you would like to refresh the look of your wallet, the Ridge Refresh Set allows you to swap out the outer plates without buying a new wallet.

Elastic and Cash Strap: Inspect the inner elastic and cash strap periodically for signs of wear, stretching, or fraying. If either loses tension or shows visible damage, contact Ridge Support.

Screws: Keep screws tight using a small Torx screwdriver. If a screw is lost or damaged, contact Ridge Support.

Storage: When not in use for an extended period, keep your Ridge Wallet in a cool, dry place away from direct sunlight and extreme heat.

Disposal: Do not dispose of your Ridge Wallet in household trash. Take unwanted or end-of-life wallets to a local metal recycler for responsible disposal. Titanium, aluminum, and stainless steel are recyclable materials.
